Class of 1960

The 50-year reunion of the Arcola High School Class of 1960 was held the weekend of August 27-29, 2010.  On Friday evening, August 27, an informal gathering was held at Yoder's in Arthur.  Nametags with pictures helped identify everyone.  The 38 who attended looked at class pictures and became acquainted.  On Saturday morning, August 38, Lisa Sigrist, principal of the junior high/high school, led a tour of the school.  The Saturday evening dinner was held at Mulligan's, located at Kaskaskia Country Club.  The buffet was attended by 46 classmates and spouses.  The dining room was decorated in purple and white with a DVD of pictures of the class growing up.  The television with DVD player was loaned by Jeff Edwards, who quickly revised the DVD so it would work on his machine.  Attendees were given copies of the class' graduation composite picture and copies of the DVD.  There also was a Sunday morning brunch at the Dutch Kitchen for good-byes and more pictures.  Thirty-four attended.

Classmates attending the reunion included George Vandeveer, Lew Wingler, George Fidler, Phil Anderson, Larry Young, Lianne Allen Harshbarger, Janet Wells Jones, Dixie Chapman Freeland, Linda Stump Beazley, Nancy Keal Barenberg, Beth Hull Vyverberg, Joe Monahan, Fred Shields, Wayne Younger, Beverly Johns Allen, Ed Malray, Mary Blagg Ragan, Patsy Wood Koger, Bob Coombe, Bill Connor, Duane Koger, Jim Little, Bill Elliott, Harry Bright, Wendell Smith, Mike Ashley, Ed Henby, Gene Diener, Kay Bright Atteberry, Larry Finn, Bill Harshbarger, Gary Howrey and Dave Rich.
